No. Engineers continue to design in KiCad and GitHub remains the repository and source of truth. KiHub adds the hardware-aware review workspace between a revision and the decision to merge or revise it.
Which GitHub permissions does KiHub require?
The GitHub App reads repository contents, pull requests, metadata, and relevant organization membership events. KiHub can post review status back on the pull request through GitHub Checks, but it cannot change repository contents.
What happens to private design files?
Original KiCad files are processed to generate review models and artifacts, then removed from active processing storage. Derived review artifacts and reports can remain as part of the review record.
