How do I remove background noise from audio?
To remove background noise from audio in EraseNoise, upload the recording at the top of this page and compare a 30-second preview before paying for the full file. Download the full file only if the cleaned voice sounds better than the original.
What noise can EraseNoise lower?
EraseNoise lowers noise behind speech: wind, fans, air conditioning, traffic, and hum, and in our tests also a barking dog, a baby, breathing, and kitchen sounds. Keystrokes on top of a word and other people shouting are weak cases. It does not split a song. A counted echo belongs on Remove Echo. A dense room wash belongs on Remove Reverb. Music under speech belongs on Remove Background Music.
How well does EraseNoise remove noise?
On 24 real recordings from the Microsoft DNS Challenge, the DNSMOS background score rose from an average of 2.45 to 4.13 out of 5, and overall quality from 2.14 to 3.18. Dogs, fans, traffic, and scrubbing dropped the most. Typing under a word barely changed. Every recording and its scores are on the noise removal examples page.
Is the full EraseNoise download free?
No. The 30-second preview is free: 3 previews a day without an account, and 20 a day with one. The complete file uses paid minutes. Pro includes 20 hours per month. It is not an unlimited plan. Silence removal is a separate free tool.
Which formats does EraseNoise accept?
Audio uploads can be MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, or FLAC, and the cleaned download is WAV. Video uploads can be MP4, MOV, M4V, or WebM, and the download is MP4.
What happens to an uploaded file?
EraseNoise deletes the upload and the result automatically 24 hours after upload. Files are not kept as public demos.
